How SECURE series are underwritten	New members who are aging into Medicare will be offered coverage on a Guarantee-issue basis within 6 months of their Medicare effective date. Otherwise, applying for coverage requires evidence of insurability (answering medical questions) Current BCBS IL members need to pass underwriting before transferring to these new policies. Current members who do not pass underwriting can enroll in the STANDARD Medicare Supplement policies with guaranteed issue.
